ADMISSION TO HOSTEL

The college provides limited accommodation in the hostels, 100 seats for girls – 40 General and 60 Tribal Hostels. Admission is strictly on merit basis subject to the prescribed reservation/weightage. Vacant seats are allotted to new students every year and preference is given to students of First year.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITION

  • Only those students will be considered for admission to the hostel who have deposited their college fees, funds and do not have any college in the vicinity of 25 Kilometers of their homes. A certificate to this effect is necessary.
  • All the seats are reserved for tribal students in the tribal hostel; in case seats remain vacant after due date then seats will be allotted to the students of other categories.
  • Only those students who take admission in the college before the expiry of the admission date (without late fee) are eligible to take admission in the hostel.
  • List of the candidates selected for admission to the hostel will be displayed on the college Notice Board on specified dates.

Documents/Certificates Required for Admission to Hostel

  • Hostel admission form is available online.
  • A medical fitness certificate issued from government hospital.
  • SC/ST certificate from 1st class Magistrate.
  • Certificate of disability issued by the CMO.
  • District/State/National level participation in sports by their respective authorities.
  • War widows and daughters of Military Personnel martyred should bring free education entitlement card from the Ministry of Defence and daughters of other Military Personnel/Ex-servicemen should bring free education entitlement card from a competent military authority.
  • Two passport size photographs of applicant.
  • Two passport size photos and specimen signatures of those persons/relatives who are allowed to see the boarder duly authenticated by parent/guardians and authorized by the college Principal.
  • A family photograph of the student.
  • The security amount will be refunded after the completion of the course. Outgoing students must reclaim their security money within 1 year of leaving the hostel.

NOTE: The Principal is the final authority for the allotment of seats in the hostels.

RULES & REGULATIONS FOR BOARDERS

  1. Admitted students are expected to arrive a day before the term begins with their own bedding, bed linen, a lock, a tumbler, two plates, a spoon, a mug, bucket, curtain and a bulb.
  2. The parents/guardians of the students will give address of one local guardian who can be contacted in case of emergency/illness of their ward.
  3. Boarders will be allowed to visit local guardian once in a month with the prior permission of the warden.
  4. Students are not allowed to keep record players, fire arms or any electric gadgets in their room.
  5. A weekly outing to the market of about 3-4 hours is allowed on every Saturday; however, in case of urgency written permission from the warden should be taken for the same.
  6. There will be daily prayer and roll call in the evening in the common room of the hostels. Every student must be present at the time of prayer. Absence will lead to fine.
  7. No boarder will leave or enter the hostel without marking an entry in the departure/arrival register of the hostel.
  8. Any student absenting himself/herself without the prior permission of the warden will be fined and disciplinary action may be taken against the defaulter.
  9. The resident will have to apply separately for leave from both the college as well as from the hostel. No student will be allowed to go out of town/hostel during working days without the prior sanction of leave by the Principal.
  10. The use of electric rods, kettles, heaters, induction cooker and other appliances are strictly prohibited in the hostel rooms. Unauthorized use is punishable.
  11. In case electricity bill exceeds, the electricity fund may be collected from the boarders to meet the excess charges.
  12. The students should use or handle belongings of the hostel with care. When a student is found guilty of damaging the hostel property, the respective cost will be recovered from him/her.
  13. Defiance of the hostel rules or misbehaviour renders a resident student liable to disciplinary action or even expulsion from the hostel.
  14. No meetings other than authorized by the principal shall be held in the hostel premises.
  15. Authorized visitors will be allowed in the hostel only on Sunday from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm. No day-scholars and guests will be allowed to stay in the hostel except the mother of the girl student with prior permission of the Principal.
  16. All the boarders of the hostel will have to vacate the hostel accommodation immediately after the completion of the annual examination. During vacations the hostels will remain closed.
  17. Students admitted to the hostel will have to give an undertaking in written at the time that he/she shall not be involved in any kind of ragging.
  18. Mess charges will be charged per month even if a boarder skips any meals or remains absent from the hostel.
  19. Before occupying the hostel, the boarders shall submit a medical fitness certificate.
  20. Students who fail in any class are not eligible for Hostel Admission.

General Girls Hostel

The General Girls Hostel was inaugurated by Mr. Ishwar Das Dhiman and Dr. Rajeev Bindal on November 1, 2002. It has a capacity of 40 students and provides best facilities for the students. There is a common room in the Hostel where T.V. is installed for news and entertainment of the students. There are recreational opportunities through indoor games like table tennis, chess and carrom. The mess caters to provide nutritious, hygienic and healthy food to all hostel residents. A fervent effort is devoted towards maintaining decorum and cleanliness in the hostel vicinity. A stringent code of conduct governs the behaviour of residents. In an endeavour to inculcate value-oriented life, a constant effort is made to provide umpteen opportunities to all the boarders in the hostel.

The Tribal Boys Hostel was inaugurated by Sh. Virbhadra Singh on December 2, 2006. Situated within the limits of the college, the property has a capacity of 50 students. A well–established set of norms govern the conduct of students in the hostel. The hostel has a common room for entertainment and indoor activities like carrom and chess are promoted within the space. The mess caters to provide healthy and hygienic food to all the residents of the hostel. A constant effort is made towards comprehensive development of students, by providing them with myriad opportunities to grow.

The Tribal Girls hostel was inaugurated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal on June 22, 2008. The Tribal Girls hostel has a capacity of 60 students. It caters to the needs of the students of tribal areas because they came from remote areas. If seats remain vacant, student of SC, OBC and General category are also accommodated. The hostel has a common room facility where TV for news and entertainment is installed. The mess provides healthy and hygienic food to all the boarders. The hostel has recreational activities in the form of indoor games and study room for educational purposes for the residents. A particular code of conduct governs the behaviour of the students expecting them to follow all the rules diligently. The aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for holistic development of residents.
